The Carriage House Players (formerly "Arena Players") is a performing arts company that aspires to bring quality classical and contemporary theatre to audiences of all ages. Our Summer Shakespeare Festival is located on the beautiful courtyard stage at the Vanderbilt Mansion & Planetarium in Centerport, NY. During the rest of the year our performances take place at the intimate Carriage House Theatre venue. Don't let our new name fool you! We've been in business for years under the previous name "Arena Players" led by founder Fred Defeis. In lieu of Fred's retirement, the new board of director's hope to keep Arena's torch burning brightly and keep its mission of bringing classical plays and challenging contemporary theatre to Long Island audiences under the new branding of "Carriage House Players" for many years to come.
